By the year 2041, the world’s population is projected to reach approximately 9.2 billion people, continuing a trend of steady growth but at a gradually slowing rate. Asia will remain the most populous continent, home to over 5 billion people, with India and China together accounting for more than 2.7 billion, though India is expected to maintain its lead as the world’s most populous country. Africa will experience the fastest growth, with its population surpassing 2.1 billion, driven by high birth rates in countries such as Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Europe’s population is likely to decline slightly, dipping below 700 million due to low fertility rates and aging demographics, while Latin America and the Caribbean will see modest growth, reaching around 700 million. North America’s population, led by the United States and Mexico, is expected to approach 400 million, and Oceania, including Australia and the Pacific Islands, will grow to around 50 million. Urbanization will accelerate, with the majority of people living in cities, and megacities in Asia and Africa will continue to expand rapidly.
