Belarus Population

Belarus has experienced relatively stagnant or declining population growth over the past few decades. After reaching a peak population of around 10.2 million in the early 1990s, the country has seen a gradual decrease, with the population estimated at about 9.2 million in 2023. This decline is primarily due to low birth rates, high mortality rates, and significant emigration, particularly among young people seeking better economic opportunities abroad. The aging population and negative natural growth rate have further contributed to the demographic challenges facing Belarus, making population growth a significant concern for the country's future development.
