Morocco Population

Morocco has experienced steady population growth over the past several decades. In the mid-20th century, the country’s population was around 8 million, but by 2000 it had risen to approximately 28 million. As of 2024, Morocco’s population is estimated to be over 37 million. This growth has been driven by declining mortality rates, improvements in healthcare, and a relatively high birth rate, although the rate of growth has slowed in recent years due to a gradual decrease in fertility rates. Urbanization has also played a significant role, with more Moroccans moving to cities in search of better economic opportunities. Despite the slowdown, Morocco’s population is still expected to increase in the coming decades, though at a more moderate pace compared to the rapid growth of the late 20th century.
