By the year 2039, the world’s population is projected to reach approximately 8.9 billion people, reflecting ongoing growth, particularly in Africa and parts of Asia. Africa is expected to experience the fastest population increase, with countries like Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo among the most rapidly growing, contributing to the continent’s population surpassing 2 billion. Asia will remain the most populous continent, home to over 4.8 billion people, with India and China continuing to lead as the world’s most populous countries, though India is likely to maintain its position as number one.
