Israel Population

Israel has experienced significant population growth since its establishment in 1948. Starting with approximately 806,000 residents at its founding, Israel's population surpassed 9.7 million by 2024. This growth has been fueled by a combination of high birth rates, particularly among Jewish and Arab communities, and substantial immigration waves, especially from Europe, the former Soviet Union, and Ethiopia. The country's population growth rate remains among the highest in the developed world, with a current annual increase of about 2%. This rapid growth presents both opportunities and challenges for Israel, impacting its economy, infrastructure, and social fabric.
