The Top Warty Crab (*Eriphia verrucosa*), also known as the yellow crab or warty crab, is a robust, dark-colored crustacean found along rocky coasts of the eastern Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea, and Black Sea. Recognizable by its warty, uneven carapace and strong claws, this species is highly valued in local cuisines for its flavorful meat. The main fishing countries for the Top Warty Crab include Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, and Turkey, where traditional small-scale fisheries use traps and hand collection methods along rocky shorelines. In these countries, the crab forms an important part of coastal fisheries, often sold fresh in local markets and restaurants. Although not a major export commodity, the Top Warty Crab supports artisanal fishers and contributes to the cultural and economic fabric of Mediterranean and Atlantic coastal communities.
