The Syracusan fusus, scientifically known as Fusinus syracusanus, is a species of marine gastropod mollusk in the family Fasciolariidae, commonly referred to as spindle snails. This sea snail is found primarily in the Mediterranean Sea, particularly off the coasts of southern Italy, Greece, and parts of North Africa. The fishing industry for Syracusan fusus is relatively small-scale and artisanal, with Italy—especially Sicily—being the top country harvesting this species, followed by Greece and Tunisia. These countries typically collect Fusinus syracusanus using traditional methods such as hand gathering or small trawls, as the snail is valued locally for its edible flesh and sometimes for its shell in artisanal crafts. While not a major commercial species, the Syracusan fusus plays a role in local Mediterranean coastal economies and cuisine.
